Qualifying

It was no surprise to see Michael on the pole again this week, but Jenson Button was nowhere in sight due to an issue in one of the final corners on his hot lap where he ran wide into the dirt and lost time pushing him down to 14th on the grid. BAR honors were filled by a good run by Takuma Sato.

David Coulthard outqualified his team mate Kimi Raikkonen in 10th and 13th places respectively, lets hope they have a better race this week than the last few!

Giorgio Pantano in the Jordan-Ford had a dissapointing qualifying session, spinning in the same area as Button's problem and splitting the Minardi's in 19th place.

Race Results

Michael Schumacher wins the Spanish Grand Prix over Rubens Barrichello both in Ferrari's making another 1,2 finish for the team and 5 straight wins for Michael equalling Nigel Mansells record.

The pair of Renault's came in 3rd and 4th a good run for Trulli and Alonso (From Spain)

Takuma Sato finished the race in a solid 5th place and his teammate Jenson Button clawed his way up to 8th place for 1 championship point.

David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen in the McLaren Mercedes came in a dissapointing 10th and 11th respectively, albeit a finish!

The major retirement of the day was Juan Pablo Montoya in the Williams BMW who had been having brake problems for a number of laps and retired with a small brake fire 20 laps from the end of the race.
